Public Notice

The Town of Westerlo Town Board will hold the next regular Town Board meeting on Tuesday,  December 8, 2015 at 7:30 PM at Westerlo Town Hall located at 933 CR 401, Westerlo, NY.  Please note this is a change from the normal first Tuesday of the month which would have been December 1st.

Planning Board Conference


NYS Senator George Amedore (R-Rotterdam) is joining the Westerlo Planning Board for a public forum on broadband.

The conference will be held at the Town Hall, CR 401, on Tuesday, November 24 commencing at 7:30pm.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to submit questions that will be selected and presented to the moderator.

Participants include Mid-Hudson Cable, President, Mr. James Reynolds, Arnie Cavallaro, General Manager of NYAIR and Mid-Hudson Cable and Jason Guzzo of Hudson Valley Wireless.

Officials from Westerlo, as well as neighboring hilltowns, have been invited to attend.

Service providers will each have 5-10 minutes to explain their services and what expansion can be expected in Westerlo, both residentially and commercially.

Senator Amedore will also outline the Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s $500 million plan for expanding rural broadband access. the plan calls for substantially expanding highspeed broadband service in New York State, particularly in rural areas, by the end of 2018.

All are welcome to attend.

Veterans Photos

The Town Historian, Dennis Fancher is preparing a photo display of all veterans both living and deceased from Westerlo, South Westerlo, Dormansville and Lambs Corners.

His project will be displayed in the Historical Society tent in the Town Park during the Bicentennial celebration on September 26 and 27, 2015.

Dennis will scan your photo and return them within 24 hours.

The town has 56 miles of town roads, 63 miles of county roads and 22 miles of state roads.
