The Town of Westerlo is looking for committee members for the Westerlo Comprehensive Plan Committee. This committee would help plan all areas of growth and change in the town and create guidelines for future plans and projects. If you are interested in helping Westerlo move forward, are concerned with how Westerlo moves forward or just want to help with the details we could use you.

Historical Society Meeting

Anyone interested in attending the Historical Society meeting should contact Roland Tozer at 518-797- 3050.

Historical Society Meetings are held at the Westerlo Reformed Church Hall on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7 PM.

The Museum Board is seeking a Westerlo resident to serve on the Museum Board. If you are interested, please leave a message at 518-797-3511

Veterans Photos

The Town Historian, Dennis Fancher is preparing a photo display of all veterans both living and deceased from Westerlo, South Westerlo, Dormansville and Lambs Corners.

His project will be displayed in the Historical Society tent in the Town Park during the Bicentennial celebration on September 26 and 27, 2015.

Dennis will scan your photo and return them within 24 hours.

ZRC Committee Findings

The Zoning Recommendation Committee (ZRC) was formed by the Town Board to address potential changes to the town's Zoning Law regarding impacts of high volume horizontal hydraulic fracturing (HVHF) for Shale Gas Development (SGD).

The town has 56 miles of town roads, 63 miles of county roads and 22 miles of state roads.

The Town of Westerlo is 23 miles south/southwest of Albany and just 30 minutes from the Catskill Mountains.
